My process
I welcome clients to ask any questions they would like along the way, as we collaboratively create a treatment plan and take action towards healing trauma, anxiety, and enjoying life.
Therapy with a new client begins with getting to know each other, through allowing space for you to define what your goals are, how you will know when you’ve met your goals, and explain to me what your ideal day to day life looks like, so we will know when therapy is complete.
Next we will go through your symptoms and history. I’ll provide you with information about the different forms of therapy that I am trained in and how they could be useful in lessening your symptoms and reaching your goals. With my support, you will decide what types of therapy you would like to do based on what energizes you, feels interesting, and matches your learning style.
Some clients prefer lots of homework, others prefer book suggestions and art assignments, and most people like to engage in real time processing through conversation, art therapy based interventions, and EMDR.
